If you have in your aquarium more fish species such as ancistrus or corydoras (bottom feeding fish) and zebrafish or tetra (middle and top feeding fish) you need to solve the problem of feeding because the food has to feed the bottom feeding fish and middle-top feeding fish.
On the market you find fish food for all species and when you are feeding your fish a part of the food is swimming on the water surface, another part is floating in water and the last part is sinking.
The most important aspect about fish feeding is the amount because overfeeding creates only problems in a freshwater aquarium and if you keep overfeeding you will have an algae bloom in your aquarium.
In my aquarium I feed the fish only once a day and I see no problems, in this way I avoid overfeeding and in the same time the fish are healthy and gain weight.
My advice is to use quality food with little water pollution and feed your fish once a day, the amount of food is how much you can take fingertips.
